In '66 & '67 at BES in Hollywood, we had liberty cards that could be had after liberty call was announced. Spent the last several weeks there as a CPL and I still had to have one to get off base.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... MCRD San Diego. Platoon 1052 #2310994. Summer of 1966, 30 days after graduating high school. I couldn't wait to get off that John Deere tractor and do something fun and exciting. Imagine my surprise when the first person to greet me on arrival at MCRD was someone I had never met, but who seemed to know so many negative things about my heritage and my alleged relationships with farm animals!

Anyone else lap the 1st Batt. parade field 20 times with one boot on and one off? Funnnnnn!!!! Hey Mike 33, where was 3/3 in 68 ? I was with 1/3 aboard the USS IwoJima and I know 2/3 was on the USS Cleveland. We were part of a BLT force.

Mike33, forget my earlier question. We came off float staus in Nov.67. Our Division and Regimental Hq. was at Quang Tri. I had a real bad case of CRS when I was thinking about what happened yrs. ago. Anyway its good to hear about another from the Third Herd being on here.
