James River 1903a3 feed problem

I recently bought a James River Armory rebuild/refurb 1903a3. The first round will feed from the the magazine but the second goes up the feed ramp and jams in the square cutout in right of the entry to the chamber. This happens with every round that feeds from the left of the magazine (2nd and 4th). All rounds from the right (1st, 3rd and 5th) feed correctly. Once the jam occurs if I pull the bolt back and ram it forward again the round will chamber but it shears a chunk of the lead point off the projectile. I have encountered this with both 220gr and 150gr rounds, both soft lead tip as this is all I am able to get at this point. I haven't managed to find any references to a similar problem anywhere else and any help would be much appreciated because at the moment I'm basically only able to use my rifle as a single shot.

I own a James River M1 Carbine. After about 100 rounds the rear flip sight flew off. I sent the rifle back and they installed a new one which so far is fine. I also have feed problems no matter what mag or ammo I use. There are also some occasional ejection issues. My fear is that James River is just not up to snuff with their quality control. I would not trust this carbine as a self defense weapon. I recently purchased an IBM Carbine and have had zero issues. Its sad that a firearm built in 1944 functions better than one made in 2013.
My point is that I regret purchasing from James River Armory. My suggestion would be to keep on hounding them to get your rifle to work right or else have them replace it.
Right now I am in the market for a 1903A3 but I am staying away from JRA. Sorry I cant help you with the specific problem you are having.

they use china made repro trigger guards, and repro Stocks..
those 2 combined will give you feeding issues..
fitting the extractor correctly will fix some of the issue.
replacing the repro trigger guard with a Genuine, and make sure the spring and follower are correct, fit the stock correctly... should fix the issue..
