    SMLE Bolt serial No

I have a NoI MKIII bolt with serial number C 95587 on the rear of the handle. On the underside of the handle is the number T4237. Could this bolt have belonged to a sniper rifle and is looking for it's home?

Hi the serial number C 95587 will match the receiver, barrel, nose cap and sometimes if numbered on the underside of your rear sight.

The T4237 is the production number during manufacture. This will match the same number under on the back of the receiver, right side top (where the bolt handle covers when fully closed) If this matches it is the original bolt to the gun, if not, the bolt has been replaced.

    I hope this helps.

    cheers
