Your 52D will probably do that at 100 yds., but you will need a scope, ammo that it likes and calm winds. Nice looking 52 D, they are some real shooters!

My neighbor showed up at the range with one of those complete with the Unertl scope. He's now one of the top competitors in our club. Amazing rifles to be sure.

    RFD,

Thats a very nice looking 52-B with an interesting added cheek piece. Can you post a couple pic's of the right side butt stock?

    Reference to 52B

Sorry Binew! I snapped these pics from our shooting this past summer and did not get any pics from the other side. Hopefully I'll see him out at the Range this spring when things dry out a little. I'll try to get more pics then.

I bought one and traded into the other. Both shoot like a house afire when I do my part. These will be with me for a long time. Winchester 52D one is 1964 and the other one is a 1968 both CMPicon sales guns.
You should get a lot of enjoyment from your's.

Well, I just traded away the house, horse and barn but I got the cousin to my 52D agreed on today. Just agreed to pick up a Win 52B, comes with the olympic sights plus a correct fecker scope. The kicker is it also comes with the original owners shooting log which starts in 1961 and ends in 1973. Downside is it is not in an original stock, at least it doesnt appear so from the photo I got. Will post up clean photos when I get them this is what I have at the moment.

Here's the 52D that I got back in the mid-60s. It's a fairly early gun (107xxx) that I got to replace the 69A that I had been shooting. I bedded it and did the final fitting of the stock (I still have the original). I shot this rifle with the Northside Rifle Club in Cincinnati for years, a team that won the Ohio State Championships 3 times. I also shot it with the U. of Cincinnati Rifle Team. Our team placed 11th in the nation one year. One of its and my best performances was at a match in Louisville; however, the AMU was shooting there that day (including Wiggers and Anderson if I remember correctly) and so, needless to say I didn't place. It was however an experience.

Nowadays I shoot big bore since I can't find an indoor range anywhere near where I live. This rifle got me a Master classification; it was and is a highly accurate rifle that will go to one of my kids one day.

    Jim,
Your stock and Hardware are identical to the outfit that was on the 52B I picked up this past summer. I have been shooting with the Vaver sights which it came with and have been shopping around for a nice period scope. The bi-focals are giving me a hard time with the iron sights.
Can you ID the stock or manufactor ?

    Thanks Capt.RJM
