    '03A3 loose extractor

    Hi,

I bought a used blued R-marked bolt for my A3. The extractor feels really loose; if you shake the bolt, the extractor rattles. And, the extractor looks a little bent (pointing to bent spot with pen in pic).

I am used to Mauser 98s...which have very snug extractors...they are tight to the bolt body and certainly do not rattle.

    Thoughts, please.

    Roy

Well, I have not fired it yet. I want to check the headspace before I do.

The bolt cycles correctly, but the loose/rattle just doesn't seem right.

some 1903A3s have loose fitting extractor rings.. as long as the extractor works well, and the bolt operates normally,, i wouldnt worry about it much
