    Imperial M7s Knife

Found one of these at a yard sale today. Guy thought it was an engineers knife from the Vietnam era but I've since found out it is a civilian sale from the 80's. In any case, it's a nice knife based on the M7. Has a saw back which is nearly useless. a flat head screwdriver on the bottom of the tang and a phillips head on the top. Base of pommel has a nail puller and can be used as a hammer on the other side.

Figured I'd share it as a curiosity piece. Apparently there are a lot of fellows looking for them.

Yup, fantasy piece. I haven't seen one since back then though. Nice catch.

Have a look at my web site under US and you will see a correct one of these in the original scabbard etc. the scabbard you have is the M10 on ewhich is 90's and not correct, the original one had survival gear in it and the blade and scabbard were sold as part of th survival rage at the time. The m7 were excess blades fitted to a new made pommel that was a claw hammer. Not the best made items but not many of th survival knives back then were, no one wanted to pay good money althoughAttachment 74720Attachment 74719Attachment 74721 cheap was useless for what it was intended

That's not my knife, just a stock photo. Mine is in an M8 scabbard made in Germanyicon so it isn't correct either.

I actually think it's pretty well made, same materials as in the bayonets. Took it out and cut down a small tree with it yesterday so the saw back actually does work for small things. I have not tried the nail puller yet and have visions of the scabbard coming off and slicing off a couple of fingers. Same with the hammer function although I can see if flying through the air in that instance.
