I can see this going either way, but I will say it's when we make too much of the DNA of these wartime military weapons that we get ourselves into trouble. Some things just can't be proven and of course we are left with or opinions, which is fine since we are all entitled to them. I have seen lots and I mean lots of M1icon carbine stocks and there's so much details (aka dings, dents scratches and gouges) in them that no one person could ever tell when or how a particular mark happened. Personally, I always tell people to enjoy what they have and don't drive themselves crazy with ifs and buts.
