    Help Identifying K98 in .22

    Hi,

    I just picked up the following K98icon in .22 (so I'm not sure if should be here or in the.22 Mods - please move if I'm in the wrong spot). The previous owner indicated that it was an Israeli trainer, built using a Remington Barrel. What are your thoughts on what I have here:

    As you can see it is marked 400 ÷ 25

    as well as 0.22 on the right side and bent bolt handle:

    And it is marked with a 'dot' on the upper receiver:

    and finally the k98 mark:

    The previous owner is on the money. A variety of Germanicon and Czechicon 98K rifles were converted by the Israelis to .22. I once had a Radom WZ29 that was converted. They are very nice rifles and a lot of fun to shoot.

    I'd have loved to get one of those. Always like the full size rifles in .22.

    fn 98k Israel I 22

    Israeli FN contract 22 98k rifle. Mostly were exc/mint condition in storage in
    the desert. Had to change wood to israeli surplus Mauser wood because the
    original was oil soaked with sand. Metal is all original finish. I have a few of these
    all the same

    Wow, that is an unbelievable nice sample you have there. Were all of the ones you imported like this or close to it? I'd love to habe one in that condition.

    Yes, most of the ones I have are like this. Just had to replace wood and some bolt parts. Guns are all
    original from FN
