Shooting a pencil out of a (usually) 9mm pistol barrel.............. FRAUGHT with dangers. I'm sure someone else will come on board with regards to the 2x fatal 'accidental' shootings at the border crossing checkpoint in Bandit Country............

The two events became one of those classic 'warning tales', '.....that if something can go tits-up, then it WILL.....'

Were you part of this investigation Bombdoc or Ensci?

I think Peter that he was saying "to utilize the inertia from the firing pin or hammer to push on the eraser (soft)" and push the pencil out that fraction and the lead tip onto the paper" as he says the muzzle @1" from the wall.

Oh, deary me............... I know what he was saying Cinders......... Only toooooooo well! This is EXACTLY what the two clowns WERE doing. But as I remember it, they'd unloaded the Brownings and the little inertia trick didn't work. So they put a magazine on so that it WOULD work. Which it did..........tragically!

Well Peter stupidity goes on everywhere ~ Just like the bloke using 2 sticks of gelignite to see how high a plough disc would go what goes up must come down straight through the shearing shed roof. Or some protesters in the public gallery in Parliament house in Canberra last week super gluing their hands to the galleries balustrade did not phase the Federal police much ripping their hands off the timber yep stupidity is everywhere........

Postscript ~ I may add in my dealings with these so called protesters they are normally people that are A) receiving a supplement from the Govt B) Uni students between semesters.
I recall a situation we had near Busselton where a Llmenite mine was being put in among the Tuart forest, they the protesters arrived and were there for some weeks as we constructed the place they often yelling abuse at us hanging out of trees it did not worry us as you just get on the cranes air horns and that drowns out their feeble yelpings.
The mess they made of the surrounds to that mine had to be witnessed to be believed with loo paper scattered and excrement all about, food wrappings and general detritus from those long haired wanna be's.
Another one which was quite humorous for us is the Police Tactical Response Group rang the firm I worked for and wanted to know how high up a 50 tonne crane could go 55 meters with fly & needle we replied that's good as there is a protester up a tree near Manjimup trying to stop logging, he is at 50 meters, so we will use the crane a mancage + rigger and one of the officers in the mancage with him to effect the arrest.
We all wanted to go to see the TRG drag the long hair out of the tree but sadly they rang us the next day cancelling as the protester was in the wrong area so they were leaving him up there on his so called quest, I guess the protester thought he had the power, what a tosser.....

Yup, the Aussie cops can be less than delicate, but they get the job done. Even when it's a tasteless one like that...
