Found a nice Long Branch lend rifle

I really love these Long Branch No4 Mk1*'s. This is number 3 in my collection and I hadn't seen one in years. A 75 year old time machine.......

Very nice and pretty obvious it has had a good life.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

Lovely looking LB and NZ marked too! Looks to be vertually unissued.

An NZ Long Branch is high on my shopping list and one this good would be a perfect find.

That rifle has to take the prize of the prettiest No4 of 2018!

Yes, a pretty honest looking rifle. Wood looks to be stained birch.

Not stained, just Linseed Oil which darkens over the years. Thanks to General Alexander Archer Vandegrift and the 1st Marine Division, the Japanese never invaded NZ and the rifles went into storage. This rifle has no import marks and a perfect bore. My 1942 NZ No4 has the Broad Arrow and NZ on the L side of the wrist band and this one is on the receiver. Who says Birch isn't beautiful?

She certainly is a head turner, a Canadian beauty that only gets better with age.

I believe I have seen pictures of only one No4 which looked better, and it too was an NZ rifle. Definitely about as good as they come. Now its your job to keep her that way haha.
