    1950's FN FAL bayonets

For many years I have had a 1950's FN FAL bayonet used in the Britishicon acceptance trials of the FN..., which became the L1A1.

It has the letters X2 E1 and serial number 3885 engraved on the steel between the wood grips and the scabbard hs X1E1 engraved on the top of the mouthpiece.

Can anyone tell me anything about these bayonets, such as what was the X1 version and were there any other variants?

    Thanks.................

trailed with the FN knife bayonet the X2E1, Other versions of trials blades used a double sided blade similar to the Belgian FN49, and the X2E1 without the flash hider prongs (X3E1). The No5 was used as the basis of the L1Ax series of blades. The trials version of this blade was the X4E1, this is similar to the production versions but without any markings
