Sounds like trolling to me. Not just the old thread, needlessly re-opened, but this tripe to no end. Yes my son, we've all done it and are aware of it because several of us carried that rifle for service. We don't need or want unknowns coming here to tell us what we know and then scold us from the darkness of the internet about our not caring what you think. We've seen you come and will watch you go.
    Regards, Jim

You took the Australianicon change lever out of your Australian rifle. You didn't take the Britishicon change lever out of your British made rifle. Maybe it's you who ought to read the start of the thread

Well, the 'Dude' really told ME, didn't He!
Obviously my MANY years & experience in Military Service, Manufacturing, research & Development Etc. Were wasted!................

The 'Dude' clearly has Pehnominal Powers of seeing into the 'Unknown'. And can foretell when a component will fail/ fracture/ explode Etc......Truly a 'Remarkable' individual?................

As to his comment on weapons being fed standard ammunition never exploding etc. Well, my eyes must have deceived Me when I have had to replace bolts & breechblock's. That had failed/ fractured firing STANDARD Service ammo!.........And also recievers that have split & failed, barrels that HAVE burst & caused serious injury! Obviously I wasted the MANY Hours writing reports In Depth on these Matters & must have 'Conjured up' & imagined all those factual Incidents!..............................

What I wrote in response to his inistial post was interpreted by Me. As reading a post that came across as 'Bragging' & on the Point of Encouragment to action an activity. That is in MOST countries, ILLEGAL AND Dangerous! The subject has been covered previously by Both Peter & Myself. OUR Comments were from IN SERVICE Expierience & for INFORMATIVE Purposes ONLY!

The 'Dude' clearly from his posts. Thinks it clever to put unessacary strain on an Excellent Rifle, & think it clever to do so. Because he got away with it.
    THIS Time!.......

When facts have been pointed out to Him on a low level of the ways & Wherefores. He clearly thinks himself 'Clever' to stoop to abuse & attempts to Belittle Me............As Friends & Collegues here have commented. we have seen the likes of him come & go on Here. He wont be the last.
And in the words of Catherine Tate, 'Am I Bovered'?..............Nah!

This fine upstanding @keyboard Warrior', who in his rabbid attempt to verbally berate Me. Has clearly defined His intelligence level. by comiting himself publicly in Hard Copy. Of his Illegal Actions. For anyone in a Position of Law enforcement, to collate a file to justify tracking him down. & identifying where he Lives. Thus enabling them to enforce the Law!.....Yes VERY Clever indeed!...................
We on here are Mostly aware that We have Former & Serving Police Personel as Members of this Erstwhile Portal. Whilst most are Decent, Sympathetic Kindered Spirits. There are times when the Position they hold in Law. Put's some of them in a situation where certain 'Activitie's' simply cannot be ignored!

I DO hope this is not one of them!..................

Hey, Tankie..... Don't take it all to heart! Chill out a bit and take it as a compliment when a true expert in the field comes on board and pontificates about the rightiousness of his views and bovine stupidity of ours. He's right of course. Years of classroom training and later experience aren't the bee-all and end-all of things when you know better. For all you know, he might have been an Apprentice Armourer or been to Uni or done the weapon design course module.

Clearly we and I suspect most of the forumers under estimated that the average Army rifleman would know about breaking the rifle down and stripping the trigger mech housing to its individual parts with his leatherman or combination tool. Snipping off the split pin and hardened trigger plunger with a handy belt sander. AND assembling it all up properly - but leaving the change lever out! All this with ogres such as Muffer and BAR - and me on the odd occasion - shouting out fire orders in his ears as he's running to a new fire position with bullets whizzzzzzing by, wishing he was a LMG/GPMG gunner.

Yep, let's take it as a compliment. And remember this. If you don't want to GET fxxx-all*, then don't DO fxxx-all* - or in this case, write xxxx-all*! If you put your head over the parapet, someone WILL shoot. Have a great Sunday everyone

    * Army technical phrases, relatively unknown in the civilian world, used on the ground floor to indicate a degree of sadness, disquiet, unease, happiness, pleasure.... In fact used conjoined with many other choice or even frosty words or phrases to indicate, well....., anything

    Peter, You Humble Me sir!...................

Nah, 'The Dude' has only show himself for what He is. I wont even waste time going into detail on that one!

Hang on! I AM wasting Time!......It's My Birthday today, I completely forgot to action
    The Celebrations!..

Hope you all enjoy the rest of YOUR day gentlemen!

Ogres indeed. We were kind and well spoken at worst... True though, no fiddling around during fire and movement.

Bar and Tankie, you've both made my day. A chuckle a day makes the world brighter! I expect CSM Muffer will be along soon explaining how they simply used to '.....chivvy people along a bit.....'

    And happy birthday too!
