I grew up playing with "Dinky Toys" which predated Corgi. My favorite was the tank transporter and tank which was either a Chieftain or a Centurion.

The proud UK Marshall guitar amplifiers were originally made in Milton Keynes. Some of them now made in Vietnam. I am actually looking at one of these Vietnam-built models:

One of the first things I noticed and was somewhat shocked by. Not that they were made in Vietnam but that it was so unrealistic. Corgi is not well known in the States but they do exist. I have a few military models and the ones I have are fairly accurate portrayals.

All of our best car toys (small) were made by English companies with Matchbox (Lesney) being the leader by a huge margin. Dinky, Corgi, Budgie being three minor companies here. Our big exception is Hot Wheels and I was never a huge fan of them because most were fantasy pieces and I liked the real deal which Matchbox provided. Corgi was way too expensive. Budgie I don't believe I ever saw for sale new but I have several I purchased used. What's interesting is that Matchbox produced a huge variety of American cars and trucks along with the British variants.

Bigger toys are almost exclusively trucks, and US made. Structo, Tonka, Buddy L and probably a dozen less known manufacturers produced the 1-2 foot long vehicles.

I'm a casual collector of all these toys with many being from my uncle when he was a kid, passed down to me and then I've been buying them ever since.

Yep. I've got a well-loved vintage Corgi Morris 850 Mini like the one below that is significant because my family owned a couple of those in the '60s and early '70s.

I've also got a Corgi James Bond Aston Martin D.B.5.

    There are others packed away.

Here's most of my Dinky collection. The ones in the front center and right aren't Dinkys however. The tank is a French made Solido and the half track types are various US manufacture open bottom toys. Most of the rest behind them are Dinkys.

There was a French "off-shoot" of Dinkey that had, unsurprisingly, a factory in France and produced models of French military vehicles.
