Arrow Garand Picture of the Day #107 Buffalo Soldiers

The 92nd Infantry Division was a unit of the United Statesicon Army in World War I and World War II. Nicknamed the "Buffalo Soldiers Division", this segregated unit was the only African American infantry division to see combat in Europe during WWII, as part of the 5th Army.

Coincidently, I rented "Miracle at St. Anna" for Saturday night The jacket says it's about four soldiers from the 92nd in Italyicon. Cover photo shows two Thompsons, one M1icon, and one that might be a Carbine.

Alexandra Maria Lara who played Axis Sally did a good job in that move - her part was brief -

The jacket on that movie touted it as the best war movie since
saving Pvt. Ryan. I guess they didn't see When Trumpets Fade or Letters from Iwo Jima or Flyboys. Personally, after the first few minutes the best part of the movie was the hot Italianicon chick washing her clothes. But that's me.

Not too bad a movie. Wasn't a total waste of time. You know how it is, beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that.
