Dog gone flats! You always get them when you have to go somewhere in a hurry.
They are only ever flat on the bottom though!
As a question I realize this may be in back area or somewhere supposedly safe but just thinking and no offence but is not the soldier changing the wheel a little too far from his weapon understanding he will have a bit of a time retrieving it if they come under attack from say a fifth columnist just thinking!
Other guy can take care of it...
I wonder why they blacked out his shoulder patch? Can anyone interpret the unit markings on the jeep
The only numbers on the jeep are the USA number and all had that. Just as a side note, the numbers on this jeep are repainted as all were originally 2" blue drab, not white. The idea was blue drab does not show up so nicely in a black and white photo. This was done so the enemy had a more difficult time keeping track of vehicles and unit movement. The only other marks on this jeep are the "invasion" stars. They were only used for the invasion of Europe from June 6th. There would have or should have been an "S" included in the USA number at the cowl side denoting radio suppressed.
Oh, BTW USA stands for United States Army :D
