I purchased an Winchester 54 circa 1926 and the Marble's #14 Gold Sheard front site blade had been banged around. I found unused vintage blade site on eBAY listed as a #14 however when it came and I opened the envelope the site reads #46.5. Looking at the package itself hand written in pencil is 465H,
It will not fit in the Winchester 54, the blade sight is much to thick to fit in the slot. Any ideas what firearm this site will fit?

Is there anything stamped on the bottom of the sight?
The application code should be on the underside of the dovetail.
Its a blade so the only stamp is on the side which is 46.5. I have old Stoeger Catalogs, Gun Digest, Shooters Bible dating back to 1953; none of them show this site, the closest I found is a #46R for a Krag. The seller has no idea either. At this point I trying to decide on keeping it or not; it is a nice sight and you never know....Quote:

Yes, 46r is for the Krag.
