Webley 455 Marked "English Made"

This one has a nicer looking finish, obviously re-finished. I'm not sure what to think about the grips, hand made or thrown on to appeal to the consumer perhaps? The double action sear was snapped in half when I got it. I have ordered a new one. The gun works fine in Single Action Only (SAO) mode for the moment. Bore is perfect. Cylinder is not cut. Really just needs some proper grips unless someone states these are the proper grips.
Very curious if anyone knows what the crossed out marking on the grip may have been.

You might call IMA on the East Coast. They have plenty of UK contacts and might be able to locate grips. Good luck.

Not sure on the number on grip, is that a H after the 11 ?

My suspicion would be that the ‘11H 353’ would indicate the 353rd revolver of the machine gun section of the 11th Hussars of WW1 as that is how they were marked.
