L39
Seeing something like this for this kind of price in another country blows my mind.
That being said with my limited knowledge of these rifles I can't tell if this is a genuine article anymore than the seller claims it to be. Is this serial present in any one's notes or records? I'm not exactly keen on going through all 63 pages of the L42, envoy, etc thread to find it (Quick search of the serial and I found nothing).
Enfield Rifles

Thats only $1500.oo/Au which is reasonable for that rifle as Mum wrapped No.4's they are asking $2.2K/Au.
As for the H's & T sniper rifles they go from 8K+ for a T all the way up to 14K for a Ht that I have seen on usedguns.com.au though asking and getting are 2 different things
-
Those HT's sure do attract quite a lot, but thinking of the amount of numbers made and comparing them makes me think the L39 should be worth much more that this. I would think it would not go for anything less $5k over here.

Nijalninja,
I know Simon the owner of Highwood Classic Arms very well. If he is selling the rifle, it is authentic, and I for one, think the price tag is absoutely right and spot on for this classic rifle.

Seems quite reasonable to me

Roy,
Absolutely correct. All the series of these rifles, L39/L42/Enforcer etc are going up daily and £800 pounds in my book is a cheap rifle, especially for its condition.
Not sure what the delivery to OZ would be on top of that, but even if it cost £200GBP it would be worth it IMHO.
-
I've seen L39's go for upto £1250 recently, in excellent condition.
Like Peter says, everything was cheap yesterday.
I wonder how long it will be before people say "I remember when a good L39 was only £800! " :dunno:
-
These are great rifles. I bought one a couple of years ago for 750 pounds. I've been saying for some time that these are under valued at present; when you consider the total production of around 1300 rifles.
It's basically the L42 with an improved trigger and match sights. What is there not to like! and it cost's a fraction of the L42.
For 800 pounds, that's a deal. The sight alone is worth 200 and the mag is probably close to that as well.

30Three has just Jack in the boxed the L39 from now on the dealers will be saying "But its almost an L42, so now it's worth $8,500.oo Pounds"

I suppose the major difference is that the L39 only ever got pointed at bit's of paper!
