I would like to buy a couple more of them if possible as I want to use the 25mm wide shoulder strap webbing to make watch straps.
Its a standard British '37 Patt gas respirator bag.

Thanks for that.... but I want the bags for the canvas carry strap. The one in the link looks wider than the one I have. I need 25mm strapping as I make them into 25mm watch straps.Quote:

I would have thought that you could have purchased some of the canvas strapping "new" from a place that supplies furniture restorers or vintage car trim restorers or a similar place. I wouldn't have thought it necessary to purchase a complete gas mask haversack just to obtain the carrying strap for making watch straps.

The webbing that furniture restorers and car trimmers use is different. The webbing on the bag is a very tight weave and it nice and thin.Quote:

That was then, not now, and they are getting harder to find, and more expensive, and as a result they are being repro'd now for the re-enactors etc., so a repro one might not have the exact same weave and weight of material as an original, although will be the same width.
