Thank you.
Made for a No.4 butt plate though.
It also has the notch on the top at wrist, like a No4.
Looks like it was produced for a No4 to me, but to be certain .... As I am still confused if the CA (small) is still "correct" as the only stamp on the buttstock.

Does anyone have one of these (CA stamped only) on their 1950 dated Long Branch? Would like to see a picture if possible.
Thanks
That's not SMLE, that's no4
Reading the related threads I see that many 1950 production LB rifles had the C^ military mark on the buttstock.
Early production may have had the CA acceptance mark on the buttstock (and other wood and parts).
However every picture, in my limited exposure, I have seen of a 1950 rifle has only been with the C^ military mark on the buttstock.
Does anyone have an example of rifle with a buttstock similar to the item available on EBay?
Not that I think they are "rare", just more out of interest.
Thanks
Like this?
Yes. It just seems funny that they always seem to appear separate from the rifle.
Not that it would be hard to put one back on.
Ok then! Here's a few "connected".
These are 1949 and 1950 Long Braches.
