What size front blade sight do I need to bring my POI to the center of black square ? I am shooting Sellier and Bellot 303 British 180 gr FMJ bullets. The picture is of a zeroing target 3 round group at 25 yards at a 1.5 inch by 1 inch black square the current front sight blade size on the rifle is .030 Can anyone tell me what size front blade sight I need please. I think a .060 or .075, probably a .075. At 25 yards the increment should be .475" per blade change. See here:

Thank you, I will get a .060 blade I have a .075 blade and tried that and that brought my POI too low. Would a .045 blade still be too high ?Quote:

This is kind of not really helpful but considering the difference in factory ammo today and military ammo of last century it'll be a bit of a muck since the existing rules the brits came up with to align and choose sights were really only for the military ammo. Wouldn't even think about changing ammo though. The group will be bigger at 100, but not by much.
You aren't going to spend your time grouping at 25 yds are you? Better try out at 100 and see before changing anything except the vertical line.

Of course I am not staying at 25, went out to 100 and still would like to bring my POI down. Thank you for the help everyone I am just going to buy several sized front sights and try that way. Peter L told me get on the range do the shooting & note what it is so at 400yds you may have 500 + 2 clicks on the back sight or 450 + 1 click who knows they are all different animals, if you change the load even a simple thing like a primer it may alter the POI then your back to square 1.
All my shooters that's 5 of them all shoot the same load with 2 different projectiles all the sight settings for those 2 projectiles are committed to the book everything else Primer, Case & Powder charge and COAL are kept the same, it does pay to also have the data on a spread sheet as well as the little book in the gun case. Its that simple..........
I bet that's not far off at 200 yards. I would adjust for the lateral error and test it at 200 if you have the possibility before changing the blade.
