91/30 Last round won't chamber?

First let me say that I love my Mosin 91/30. I shoot cheap and accurate reloads in mine and find that the simple mechanics of the rifle works well for me. But I'm having one problem..... Whenever I load and fire five rounds, the first four rounds chamber easily, while the last round does not. Often I have to drop the plate, pull the cartridge from the magazine and load the last round by hand. It seems that when I try to chamber the last round the bullet end of the cartridge does not lift to be loaded. :dunno: I'm a target shooter so this isn't the end of the world, but I'd sure like to get it right.

I'm hoping this is an easy fix. All Thoughts welcome.:help:

Maybe that the magazine spring is a bit week. The power of the spring is good enough for the first four rounds but to week to lift the fifth. Take it out stretch it and test it again. If it was the reason buy a new one.

Could be a small burr that the spring is getting hung up on. That should be pretty easy to spot.

How about the cartridge interrupter? The round in the feed position shouldn't be under spring tension. I've never seen a bad mag spring(s), but this little noticed part sometimes gives fits.- Usually dried gunk or recent disassembly.

I think I can see where the problem is. I'm going to try to take a few pics and post to see what you guys think.

X2, when my Mosins act up, the interrupter is usually to blame.
