The rifle is a MK III*. Slightly different to the Mk III, mainly centered around the sighting and lack of a magazine cutoff.
Very nice mate. Do you have a photo of the butt broadside?
I would suggest you leave it exactly as it is: don't even take it apart and clean off the accumulated grease and grime. Just clean the bore and chamber, boltway etc.: the obvious external areas any soldier would clean. That dirt is some of the best proof of originality and therefore value.
And above all, do not sand, steel wool or strip the woodwork!
