M1A1 "Shooter" Repair
Here is a different sort of repair.
This M1A1 belongs to a collector that shoots every gun he owns. It was on the verge of a total failure. I installed threaded brass pins through the major cracks. It is good to go now.

I'm embarrassed to ask but I will anyway, How do you trim and finish the threaded rods so close to the wood without damaging the surrounding area? If its a pair of cutters and a needle file the only dumb question is the one not asked, that's a close fit and it looks great. Thanks, Brian.

Hi Brian, I cut the pin just north of the wood. Then a very small file the size of the pin, and work very slow.
I agree "the only dumb question is the one not asked". HTH

Another nice clean repair to a valuable stock. Nice job...

Frank, great to see an arsenal like repair to a fine para stock example. Glad the connection was made and a professional repair applied. Nice to see the difference between a cosmetic/wall hanger and an arsenal repair which can be used.
