Colt 1918 holster
I hope this is the right forum for info.I know a older gent who has a Colt 1911 made in 1912 with 4 digit serial #,it was shipped to the brooklyn ship yard on aug 31 1912 in a 1000 pistol lot for the navy. Now he just found the holster that was with the pistol,i've tried but can't seem to find info or value on it,It has US stamped on the flap and on the back it is stamped G&K below that is 1918 and below that is W.J.D. the only thing wrong with the holster is the stud to hold the flap closed is missing, other than that it is in very good condition.I would like to know any info and a value on the holster and maybe a value on the pistol with the holster,i can send pics with a email address.Any info or help will be greatly appreciated thanks.

Colt did not make any holsters for the Model 1911. The holster you describe is a Model 1916 holster, and was made by Graton & Knight in 1918. I would say value was around $75/100 or so if nice but missing closure stud. Would have to see pictures of pistol.
