Model 37 Bannerman
I picked this up a while back, I didn't have a clue what it was until I saw a pic of it in Brophy's book of the Springfield. This is somthing that can be posted in both the 1903 and 1917 Fourms (almost even the Kraig fourm)
The barrel is a 1911 SA
The receiver is a 6xx,xxx vintage which does not match the barrel
The upper band ans stacking swivel are Kraig
The stock is shortened and a peice has been grafted in for the rear receiver bedding (behind the bolt slot)
the bolt is a cut-down 1917 bolt and the extractor has been modified
The safety is an un-finished 1903 blank, the hole for the safety is not finished
The rear sight is from a Kraig, it is silver soldered to the 1903 rear sight base
The trap door on the buttplate is soldered closed
All internal parts appear to be 1917 spare parts
The handguard is of un known origin

Bannerman rifles are least interesting.
Reprints of old Bannerman Catalogs are available from this lady.
(along with a ton of other stuff)

Here's some I took of Kent Allen's Bannerman or Sedgely, certainly a lot nicer-looking, but having a M1903 stock. I agree with Chuck, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that thing if it went off!! :ugh:
Definitely only a rifle a mother could love! (A mother who shoots with VERY poor vision!!)

What does your Bannerman Model 37 use for a safety? I see none.
As a matter of note, the Krag rear sight is spot-welded on top at the front and rear to the M1903 rear sight base. The spot-weld is then ground down smooth. The sight is not silver-soldered to the base.
Thanks for the pictures! You have a very interesting and scarce rifle!

There is no safety installed and no provisions for one.
Thanks
