Question about a T

I have a no 4 enfield 303 marked

M 47 C

T R

T on left side of receiver

Can anyone tell me a little about this rifle?

Do you mean beyond the obvious like it’s a No4Mk1(T) sniper rifle (T on left side of receiver) built by BSA (M 47 C) in 1944 that was found to have above average accuracy when it was test fired (T R)?
It should look similar to this rifle if complete and correct.

My T is a little different.

I bought an old Santa Fe Enfield and some brass from my boss for $75.

When cleaning I noticed the pad mounted on the left rear of the receiver

and the T's.

The barrel is the original but shortened and weaver front and rear sights

added along with a walnut sporter stock.

I bought a mount from Sarco and the front pad, took a tap and some work

but got it together.Weaver P&CH scope made it compleat.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know to much about the history but sounds like I

have whats left of a nice rifle.
