President Obama Names Supreme Court Nominee

PRESIDENT OBAMA NAMES SUPREME COURT NOMINEE . . . President Obama has nominated federal appellate court judge Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court to replace retiring Justice David Souter. Judge Sotomayor sits on the New York-based U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She was part of a three-judge panel that ruled earlier this year in the case Maloney v. Cuomo that the Second Amendment does not apply to the states. The Maloney case may be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court, particularly in light of last month's San Francisco-based Ninth Circuit's decision in Nor**** v. King that reached the opposite conclusion and applied the Second Amendment to the states. "There is a very real possibility that the Supreme Court could revisit the Second Amendment in its next term," said NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel Lawrence G. Keane. Justice Souter was in the minority in the Heller decision and would have ruled against finding an individual right to keep and bear arms in the Second Amendment. NSSF is researching Judge Sotomayor's judicial record in other firearms-related cases to see how she might rule as a justice of the Supreme Court.

Did anybody think for a New York second that The Messiah would choose a pro gun judge? Believe me when I tell you this is way better than what could have happened.

And she will be confirmed without incident! Especially from the right.

I understand, she ruled against the suit brought by a dozen or so white NY firemen who passed the officers test but because there were no minories that passed, the test was ruled invalid. The fireman claimed they should be promoted regardless of the absence of minories. Ray

She is anti-gun, however, and even one more is unacceptable on the bench.

There is no way that she should become a Justice,she should be turned down,she's prejudiced,that's been proven a couple of times,"Firemen's suit,and her statement that a Latino woman would be better than a white male."

I don't care what her backround is,how she was brought up and so on,her law schooling,legal experience,decisions she has handed down and statements she has made are all that matter,if you needed brain surgery would want to know or care if the surgeon was female or Latino,or was raised in assisted housing,welfare and so on,or would you pick a surgeon who is the best available and operates by the book and not make decisions dependent upon how he/she felt that day,we have a Constitution for a reason.

The proper procedure is to write,call,make a pest of yourself to your representatives and senators making known you do not want this poor excuse of a socialist sitting on the bench of the Supreme Court of the United States of America
