Hey, y'all,
Mostly I lurk on the Lee-Enfield forum, but I've long collected U.S. martial arms and have ended up with a Ward Burton thats missing a few bits. Mostly I need a nosecap. Tried Dixie Gun Works but no joy. Anybody else a likely suspect?

Have you tried S&S Firearms or Trapdoorgalore? I wonder how close a remington rolling block nose cape might be.

Its supposed to be ths same as 1868's et al. Mostly 'cause Springfield built 'em and they weren't big on changing anything they didn't have to.

Smaller diameter- .750 vs. .790" barrel at the cap. Worst thing is I'm looking at a mich nicer ward burton at the "clubhouse" right now along w/ a chafee-reese, spencer rifles, remington keenes, rolling blocks, and trench guns, about 100 guns! Decisions, decisions!
M-1868s and '70s are the same as a Springfield Civil War musket. They are cheap and plentiful. Might be worth picking one up to try.
Yup, it turns out it is the regular old "generic" cap for the pre- 45-70 Springfields!
