I traded Gander mountain for the A1A 7.62x39 rifle.
I picked up the rifle (M10-A2) one day ago and I am going thru it's functions. Magazine is tight to fit and they are fitted to the rifle. Mags are marked with serial number. Gander gunsmith helped me with this and he is a forumn member now!
Hard to find history on these rifles as various vendors sold them (very few sold) and other vendors picked up when the first vendors dropped out.
Story is that Gander Mountain bought the last 100 from the only vendor and now is selling them through their stores. Selling at $699.00. Mine may be one of 30,000 in the country.
Mine is a 7.62x39 and that caliber is the first one they quit making. No others are being made due to the high cost of their manufacturing. They have chrome lined barrels, grey parked, sight rail, flash, teak wood, etc.
They come with 2 mags of 10 rounds each, front sight adjuster, thick buffalo hide sling, nice canvas case. No instructions.
Friendly Gander Mountain gunsmith fitted a 3x9 scope on the rail but I have not shot it yet. In NW Pa it has been raining, "Like a cow urinating on a flat rock".
Feels like a Mark 5 on steroids but tight! The flip safety looks like it has finger nail polish on one side so the shooter can see if the safety is on. After thought?
Gun broker has allready sold one for $1,200. See below.
