Where to start, the folders are not common and not cheap the SMG blade is even more rare and more expensive, the brass is hens teeth country. this is a very rare version of the SMG bayonet with brass fittings, that is why it is so expesnsive.
Were the folding bayonets all SMG. I assume SGM is submachine gun?

Interesting. I'm holding a folding bayonet for a Carcano rifle and comparing it to the photos. Of course, mine isn't brass, but the difference seems to be that the one in the photo has the bayonet lug attached to the bayonet while mine has the slot on the bayonet. Is that how you can tell it's a SMG bayonet?Quote:

NM64Atlas' bayonet is exactly like mine and mine came with a M1938 Carcano Short Rifle. I bought the rifle and bayo 50 some years ago from Klein's Sporting Goods in Chicago. To my knowledge the bayonet is not common anymore. The rifle the bayonet was made for is the first one I see when I log onto the web site.
I should have looked at the gunbroker photo more closely before my fingers ran away with my computer. The Bayo is not for the M1938 Carcano Short Rifle and I haven't a clue.
