Wow. What were they illuminated with?

I suspect some radioactive material such as Radium, which has long dissipated (I HOPE) !!!!!!! Somewhat like the old watches and clocks.......
I must run them up to the university and have them checked out. I wondered why I glowed at night.......:-)##

Thats actually pretty cool. You should paint on some new glow-stuff and try 'em out.
