03A3 Firing Pin Rod

I know that the very early Remington rods started out with a concave area just in front of the knob....just like all the '03's, Was this the same for early Smith Corona ? Or were they ALL straight with no concave area ?

I believe SC manufactured firing pins were the straight shanked, 3 piece variety as were replacements made at Springfield Arsenal and by At least one subcontractor, Standard Button Machine Co.

Early Smith-Corona firing pin rods were straight with no concave area.

at one time i had all the different types of cocking rods, Vishooter ended up with some of the cool ones, i still have a couple hundred stashed someplace.
SC and Remington are straight, but do look different.
