ID for WW ll German Binocular Color

I have a pair of German binoculars that I have ID-ed but I can not find which branch of the German Army they may have been assigned to.

The sand color ones are easy to ID as they are for use in the hot areas. These are a grey blue and have been marked for use in cold weather (+)
The maker is ZEISS(rjn) and are 10x50. No marks on the lens for artillery work

"...which branch of the German Army..." Doubt you'd ever be able to find that info.

Your photos don't show the color very well and they look black. If they are painted gray-blue they may be Luftwaffe issue, as they painted a lot of stuff that color. FWIW, the code is "rln" and the maker was Carl Zeiss, Jena.

German binos were predominately black untill 43, then they began to come in mostly tan color. Had nothing to do with tropical use. Much of the German eqpt came from the factory in tan from 43 to the end of the war.
If it needed to be another color or camo'd that was done by the using units in theater.
Your binos are marked Dienstglass - which means they should have the mil scale.
None were ever Lw blue that I have ever seen. I have a set of 7x50s taken off a Lw officer when an 88 was over run - got them from the vet, they're black.
The Germans were just like the Americans - there was NO distinguishing features to indicate what branch, unit or any such that they sent binos to.
