1873 Trapdoor
I am new to Trapdoors so I have some fundamental questions. Today I looked at a Trapdoor that by all appearances is a model1888 according to Flayderman's book (rod bayonet, one-piece triggergard, crisp SWP 1891 cartouche) but the breech is stamped US model 1873. The serial number is 1129XX and the rifle rates a conservative 75%(shiney bore, no pitting, good case hardening, excellent wood). It is a nice clean rifle with little wear. Is this a arsenal rework and what might be an approximate value? What might the informed souls here conjecture about this fine old rifle?

Compare it to some of these :
Springfield Arms
but Al's prices are much better then you'll find at most places.

valuation
from what you have provided, from 700-1000 sounds about right based upon my experience (although there always seem to be "deals" for the patient and persistent)..
people seem to be willing to pay a slight premium for buying from a reputable dealer like Mr. Frasca (i.e. if you can't actually inspect in hand before you buy, there is less chance for disappointment from Mr. Frasca).
