Dragunov retical grid?
Would any of you fellows have any information on the use of the Dragunov retical? It has quite an assortment of very fancy lines and arrow heads that are a bit confusing to this semi-old man. I've got the adjustment knobs pretty well figured out, being as how they are close to the same function as the PU, but, I'm quite sure the grid has a lot to offer if one knows how. Unfortunately, I do not! Any information would be a blessing- Many Thanks-SDH:dunno:

I don't know which reticle you have, but on most drag rets, the bar graph along the bottom is a rane finder for use on a 1.8m tall target (avg. man height) with distances along the X axis. The side hash marks are usually windage adjustments for leading targets or compensating for side wind.

Sound about right, many thanks, I'll give it a try this weekend. I'm hoping this thing shoots relatively straight. It seemed to cycle well till I had the F/p freeze. I don't think that will happen again, but, whos knows, thanks again_SDH

Thanks, it describes it wonderfully. I've been grooming it at the range and founds some nice copper wash heavy ball thats giving me 1.5" groups with a cool gun and 2.5" with a hot gun. The range adjustments are very close to were they should be @ 100 and 200 meters and the adjustment is nice and positive. It seems to shoot almost as well as the PU, but the PU seems to be more stable.-SDH
