I see an Underwood Flash Hider on ebay. It's up to $107. I am way out of the loop on current prices but that seems a bit high to me. Is that the going price now? What's the Recoil Check selling for?

Made for the M2. $74.35 for an original from Gunparts. $37.25 for a parkerized reproduction. Same price for a muzzle brake style.
Don't think Underwood had anything to do with 'em though.

You are correct. The U manufacturer in one of my references says unknown maker. The S A was Springfield Armory.
I guess I'm just used to U being Underwood and had a brain fart.

Ruth's first book, (1979) says unknown maker. Other books say Underwood for the flash hider and recoil check marked .U.
I wasn't 100% sure, so put in the disclaimer.
I have 2 .U. and 1 SA flash hiders. 1 .U. recoil check. Is either marking more desirable then the other. I perfer the .U. verses the SA.

SA made fewer than Underwood.
I have an Underwood M1 Recoil Check, new in box, dated 1952. The Underwood is quite common. The scarcer one is NLD.
I have one and I am very sure it is a reproduction. Has the usual wording and an F in a circle.
That might be a Ferro Machine made for a State Department Contract. The Ferros were also reproed.
