This has been discussed before. I don't think it's real but IIRC the seller got quite upset when some opinions were tossed out there.
Serial number is a legitimate manufacturing sample made from scrapped parts and usually hung on an office wall at SA. There are several known in private collections. Other "experimental" front-end items are unrelated to the rifle. The most logical explanation is when Springfield Armory closed, many items were taken including various one-of-a-kind failed engineering prototype parts accumulated at Springfield which were thrown unlabeled into cabinets and forgotten. Most were forgotten for so long even Springfield Armory didn't know what they were for. This rifle was probably assembled at home from various unrelated-to-the-rifle parts taken from Springfield Armory when it closed in 1968.
The seller has a legitmate SA receiver and parts but it's not experimental by any means.
