Fazakerly Mk1 sight on a BSA T?

Would a "F" marked Mk 1 rear sight have been used on an early 1943 BSA T sniper? Or would they all have had SM41's & 42's?....Is this written in stone, or have any here seen such permutations?..

Nothing is written in stone when it comes to wartime production rifles. My uneducated guess would be that it was replaced at some point during service. They may also have run short of Singer produced sights during 1943 and supplemented production with ROF(F) sights. It's anybodies guess.

Brian is dead right there. While the rifles were in service, you can take it from me that we didn't search through boxes and boxes of parts to sort out a special manufacturer! If a No4T needed a replacement cocking piece, then it got whatever came out of the box next. Likewise, with a backsight. Next one out of the box, chop the battle sight aperture off then out on the range the next week with the sniper and loads of ammo to range test it!

Thanks for the quick replies.....I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be totally off-base to have the Faz in place of the SM41/42....I'm crystal clear now....
