Garand drawing/revision # question

Hello all, first time posting. I just purchased an M1 at a gun show and have a question about the drawing #. It is a Springfield serial number circa 1,699,XXX dating around June 1943. According to the Joe Poyer book, the revision # circa this time frame skipped from 27 to 29, my receiver is stamped D 28291 28. Certainly this is unusual, and the 28 has been intentionally omitted from the table. The heat lot is 0 4 2 with the diamond. If anyone has encountered this or has some info it would be appreciated, TY

The D 28291 28 revision number and O42 ▼ heat lot are very common and both are legitimate. Don't rely on that book too much, the basis for his data is not very high.

I guess I was hoping to have something unique/rare. Overall the Poyer book is a bit skimpy, do you have a recommendation?

For that type of information, Scott Duff's books are the best.

Yeah, I should have bought his book to begin with, especially since he lives about 15 miles from me. Thanks for your help!
