I loved the mini-series Band of Brothers … :thup:

The only problem with Band of Brothers and Spielberg is that he says “You have to dig for the truth.” It’s well known that the 101st Abn did not initially discover Dachau and were not the first to pass through the Eagle’s Nest and Berchtesgaden. The US 3rd ID passed through the Eagle’s Nest a week before them. It’s a very sticky subject with the veterans of the 3rd ID. So I don’t understand Speilberg stressing that “You have to dig for the truth” when in fact he knew the above facts while producing “Band of Brothers.”

Hopefully he did find the truth when producing Pacific.
