Help me out
I have deployed to Afghanistan numerous times now. I have purchased ow 10 Martini Henry and some P53 and snider conversions. either they have perfect reproductions of the markings or these that I bought are real. Can some one help me figuer this out.:sos:

Sure, but you need to post photographs of the action markings - especially the royal cyphers.
You are aware of the "Khyber Pass" copies that are locally made?

I am aware of the copies, and did not buy them. I researched all the sites, bought some of the books, and spent hours meticulously sorting through mountains of guns to find what I wanted. as for pictures stand by for the pics they will take a bit.

The 1876 is not listed is a year MH MKI's were made, so it couldn't have been converted to a MKII. It has some spurious view and proof marks also.
I suggest you buy volume 3 of Temple and skennerton's Treatise onthe British Military Martini. The book has the production date info in it.
And also buy a copy of The British Broad arrow a book on Brtish view and proof mark.
Both are available from http://www.skennerton.com/rifles.html
