Video of bullet strikes...

I saw the video of the bullet strikes from out library and it was great!!. I do have a question about several of the the bullets which had a pointed base.

I suppose there is a reason for them and I would like to find out if possible the reason.

I posted this last week but I believe that this shows how a bullet flattens when it hits a hard, flat oblect. This round is probably an anti tank round but you see the results. I would not want to be any where near the shrapnel!
Metal is .100 thick!
