The rifle appears arsenal overhauled, refinished, and re-assembled from mixed parts. I value the rifle in the $800-$1000 range.

Surprise! The rifle in question is now just over $2000.00. Gosh, I headed home to buff up my 2 Mk 1's.
From what I have seen the CMP auctions bring a higher price than any other
auction or sale because it is definitely from the US army. It is up to the
individual to decide how much of a premium that is worth if any.

A touch siily. A real and complete Mk1 is real and complete by its components. To pay such a high premium for a CMP peice is not wise. Will that premium hold up say 3 months later on Gunbroker.com? I doubt it. Mind you this thing is going off at double its worth.
Anybody know how much it sold for?
