Sorta.....kind of OT-
Went today to sight my shotgun in for deer season. I use a Remington 870 pump with a rifled deer barrel. This year will be the first that I am using an Eotech red dot sight. I have always used iron sights but I will see how this turns out.
Anyway, we were shooting at about 80yrds and I brought out one of my Garands. I had my eldest son, he is 8, out with us. So after I got my shotgun dialed in, I was able to pop off 4 clips with her. Standing offhand, I was proud. I put all of them four inches @ 7 o'clock from the bull. Groupings... They were very acceptable and it made me happy. What made me even happier was that my son popped off 2 shots under very close supervision. The second shot sorta caught him offguard, so he wanted to quit. He also shot a Colt 1911 Black Army. So he is very proud. I brought the pellet gun out for him and let him go to town on that.
So, all in all, it was a good day-

I know how ya feel.
Here's my stepson the first time he shot my Garand. He was 13 at the time. It was a Kodak moment. I gave it to him with one round left in case he freaked out and the clip landed on his head!!

He looked at the clip laying on the ground and then up at me and said "WOW!! Does that thing hit you on the head EVERY time?" I let him run a couple fo clips through it after that and no more head strikes. LOL
After he got done shooting up the world, I shot an old telephone pole and he was amazed that it went all the way through it. I told him Hollywood was full of poop and if was gonna hide behind a tree, he better pick a BIG one if somebody is shooting at him with a real gun. ;)
