What's the going rate for a WW2 30 cal ammo can? I spotted clean one at a flea market for $17. It had original paint, stamped bomb and letters, no rust, 69 cents marked on the top in faded marker. I'm guessing it was the price at the Army Navy store a long time ago. :help:

I have one just like that Jeff with the embossed bomb etc, and it makes a neat display. Mine has a logo 'Canco' in an oval circle embossed over the flaming bomb.
You don't see the WWII vintage cans much anymore and $17 sounds like a good price to me. (jmo)

Grab it! They are fetching about $25.00 in really good shape.
I walked away from it, not knowing the market value. I offered $10, but he wouldn't go any lower than $15. I'll dig around and see what I can come up with.

Man, I woulda bought that in a heartbeat! I bought one on fleabay for around $25 I think it was.
At the last gunshow here in MN they had .30, 5 for $25 and .50, 5 for $30. The prices where up from .50 5, for $25 last year.
Picked up a .50 marked MATCH in Iowa last summer at an antique mall. Paid $18 for it. The first one I have seen stamp match and it was in good shape so I bought it.
Were those WWII vintage ammo cans? They're different from the ones you find nowadays in surplus stores and gun shows.Quote:
