Any ID on this scope? and a good larf too
Here's a current Trade me listing about a scope that reminds me of those odd compact sights on USA WW1 rifles, anyone know what it really is?

Plus; here's the main part of the mans listing, I really like that longevity obviously runs in his family, and a lot of guts and glory too...
'I think this was my grandfathers, He fought in most wars from 1875 onwards (cept Vietnam). So would prob have come from WWI or WWII, I think it is off a 303 but someone out there will know for sure.'
Lessee, 1875, born about 20 years earlier in 1857, that would be about 82 years old in 1939, just in time to enlist for ww2, and 96 years old at enlistment to fight in Korea, those commies must have been terrified, and er 102 at Korea closing:eek:...
hmm, assuming a NZ/british background...1875 maori wars, then boer war, ww1, ww2, korea, now that would be a chest full of medals!
