Take a look at this. Low wood, carved out for a selector switch, over $811 with 17 bids. Holy Moly. :yikes:

ORIGINAL M1 CARBINE PARATROOPER STOCK - eBay (item 190357745367 end time Dec-19-09 18:37:57 PST)
Well I looked for a year for a m1a1 and it was just easier and cheaper to find a original gun/stock combo. I watched a whole bunch, some that didn't even have all the metal go over $1K with m2 cuts and cracks sometimes.
There is something about those M1A1's that make a feeding frenzy out of bidders. Just the metal or the wood alone seems to go so high, it's supply and demand. Be happy if you have one.....Frank
Its up to $1145.99! I thought it was bad when I paid $695 for a complete M1A1, now I can double my money on the stock alone!
I just broke down and spent big bucks on the m1a1 I wanted. No reason to screw around with just a junk stock for over a grand.
wow ,over 1200 for that butchered wood?
Last year I paid $800 for a complete M1a1. 400xxx ser #. It was carved out but not bad, a little wood filler and at least it is smooth. out side near perfect.
That was a good buy. The stock looks great. How about some more pics.....Frank
Here you go Frank; As you can see, Filler is filler, but you don't see it once it's together. Leather has been replaced and I put on new hinge. It's a shooter. :beerchug:
Shadycon, hey you did good (The filler looks fine). Did it come with that barrel band on it? Be proud and enjoy!.....Frank
P.S. I have to go to work, I'll post some of my M1A1 later.....Frank
