Complete overhaul of a M1 Garand

Complete overhaul and restoration of a M1 Garand, Springfield, C.A.I. import. Nasty black soaked stock ( bad shape ) stripped and restored. Barrel replaced and replacement barrel parkerized. Reparkerized parts missing finish or rusted. National Match front hand guard setup. Gas cylinder shimmed to barrel NM. Glass bedded receiver. Op rod restored to correct bends. NM sight system, hand lapped with horizontal spring load. NM trigger job at 4.5 pounds. Trigger guard locking pins removed and reinstalled 180 degrees to provide new locking surface.

It has just a hint of tiger in the wood. Its not from the finish it is in the wood. I wish I had before photos on these rifles. The stocks were so bad I almost burned them for heat and started over on both this one and the little carbine. The stock that was on the L1A1 I think I gave to the kids down the road to play with.

Can you please explain the proceedure of removing & replacing the locking lugs on the triggerguard?..I have a few that I'd love to do this to..

With a torch heat up the area where the locking pin passes through the trigger guard leg. Tap the pin out. Rotate the pin 180 degrees and reinstall with torch. You now have a fresh round surface to “as new” profile instead of a worn flat surface on the pin.
