The Quartermaster Stores advertising system is a unique stand alone environment that differs from traditional forum based thread type postings.
It doesn't have a "reply to" function to it and we use the forum method of getting to the ads just to make it easier for folks to view the ad itself. It simply redirects one to the actual ad when clicked on, as you've discovered.
If the originator of the advertisement in the QuarterMaster Stores permits it as an option, they can turn ON the ability for members to leave (post) comments to the ad, which the system does support.
Here's a typical "practice" ad I posted in the practice area, just so people could get the feel of how the Quartermaster Stores operates.
WTT: No.4(T) small version..........
You'll notice at the bottom there's an area that looks like the "quick reply" setup you see in regular forums. Here you can type in a comment about the ad, which in this particular ad has been allowed as an option by the ad creator.
Go ahead and give it a try ...
Hope this helps ... :)

It took me a LONG time to figure out part of that system. Having a comments on/off capability clears up the rest of my confusion, I think.
I now what you mean.... ;)
It's the best of what's available out there as a stand-alone classifieds environment for vBulletin right now. We bought it a few years ago, but haven't been completely happy with it. Layout is big and clumsy.
We keep looking for something better, but so far without much luck ...

I'm still missing something on how this works. :)
I just posted a comment in that test thread. So including mine there are 4 comments there. But the main page of that forum says there are 11 replies. The 4 comments i see... the 11 replies I don't.
Now it all makes sense. Thanks :)
